    ResMed's DC-12 Converter allows you to operate S8 CPAP/BiLevel machines from 12 volt or 24 volt DC power sources like the "cigarette" style sockets found in most cars, boats and other vehicles. This is the only cord that should be used with these ResMed systems.

    Compatibility Information: This cord is compatible with all S8 Escape, S8 Escape II, S8 Elite, S8 Elite II, S8 AutoSet Vantage, S8 AutoSet II, and VPAP Auto machines. This cord will not work with the S8 Compact; for the S8 Compact use the ResMed approved PowerVerter 150 available elsewhere on this site. For the VPAP S, VPAP ST, VPAP Auto 25 use cord part number 26932.

This 12 volt charger has the benefit of being integrally made, all in one piece, and it is silent in its operation. I live in Africa where the power is uncertain, and use this charger nightly to connect my CPAP machine to a 12 volt "boat type" closed battery. The problem I found with the charger is that the connecter piece is too short.I have to disconnect it daily in order to charge the battery without compromising the CPAP machine. It is very easy to tug on the cord itself. After a year's use, I pulled the cord and loosened it. I have ordered a new one, as this is the recommended product so as not to hurt my $2000 CPAP machine, but I recommend a redesign of the connecting piece only.
