The mouthpiece's new Rotating Adjustment Dial is infinitely adjustable to create a perfect fit in the mouth and it's easily adjustable even when the mask is on. As with the original Oracle Oral Mask the 452 is an ideal solution for people who can't tolerate a nasal interface. It's also great for habitual mouth breathers or those with severe nasal problems.
The Oracle 452 is an oral mask - NOT an oral appliance. It is designed to float in the mouth and is retained in position by two silicone components that form a pressure seal against the inner and outer cheek. No dental fitting is required. The Oracle should only be used with Heated Humidification.
Unlike many facial masks, the Oracle can be worn with dentures and glasses, causes fewer skin abrasians and creates less leakage.
The second generation Oracle Oral mask from Fisher & Paykel builds on the original breakthrough design and adds some great new comfort refinements.

- Three sizes of nasal plugs (for optional use) included in each mask pack. Nasal plugs can be used to help reduce nasal breathing and dryness when using the Oracle mask.

Oracle - Mask Hi, The mouth mask is great, I need a little more adjustment time but the idea for mouth breathers is good. I am sleeping better and the dry mouth is not to bad. Excellent product w/minor design flaw I have used the Oracle 452 Oral CPAP/BiPAP Mask for about 5 years now. I love the product & it is the only mask I will use because I am a mouth breather who has constant sinus trouble even after 2 sinus surgeries. I prefer to use the head strap with the mask in order to prevent the mask from coming out of my mouth when my jaw goes slack. Now for the design flaw... When using the head strap, the holes it attaches to on the mask are located too close to the edge of the unit. By being located where they are, there is not enough material on the edge of the holes & I inevitably pull the strap hooks through the silicone like material. I typically can get one of these masks to last 6-8 months, & my insurance will replace them every 6 months, but I have had them fail in as short as 3-4 months of use. This design flaw could easily be fixed by moving the holes another 1/8" to 3/16" in from the edge, leaving more material for the head strap hooks to hold on to. - Reviewed By: George M., Hiawatha KS |
