I have tried a number of masks. All have benefits and many disadvantages. I found this mask allows for ease of use and comfort like no other mask.
The pillows do not intrude the nasal passage and you feel nothing, the Nuance Pro has 'comfort strips' that keep the mask in place; paramount for a side sleeper. I love this mask.
The head gear is replaceable, washable and cleans up well in the SoClean2 machine. I would say every other mask out there pales to this one. By RWB, Manchester, NJ
I love the Nuanced Pro Gel Pillows
After 10 years on a cpap I have tried almost everything out there, from full face mask to small ones that fit only the nose area. They have all leaked after a short time. I started with the Nuance Pro Gel Pillows in December and havne't had a leak yet. I sleep better with nothing in the way, and I am a side sleeper. I don't have a face tracks anymore on my face with the head gear. This past winter I used a heated hose with my water and my nose was never dried out. So happy they finally made a pillow that works great. Thank you!!! By Susan, OK
Good effort, but not for me
After 15+ years I'm still using my second mask, a self-modified Breeze Sleepgear. I ditched my first nasal mask after two days. The Breeze modifications include locking down all its adjustments with cable ties and redirecting and quieting the exhaust port. The old breeze gives me several things I can't live without: An over-head hose position which never interferes with my frequent position movements; minimal noise (with my mods.); One-handed, no fuss, very easy to put on; Easy daily cleaning; No leaking. I've put up with (slight) pressure on my upper lip, frequent breakage, deteriorating foam rubber at the contact points and the inability to pack this thing for survivable travel. I still try alternatives every few years, and the past couple of years have introduced a number of alternatives. I tried the Swift LT and FX which I can't get leak-free. The Nuance Pro seemed to be worth trying.
It does support the requisite overhead hose position, albeit as a sort of option - there's a hose loop that doesn't hold tight and is off-center which makes positioning difficult. It's very easy to clean daily - just pop-out the one-piece pillow. It seals very well and doesn't touch the upper lip - when you finally get everything into position. It's relatively quiet, if there's no condensation in the plenum. Otherwise it can get quite noisy. Unlike the Breeze, it does touch my face and it does leave marks and it makes me sweat, but it's better in that regard than the Swifts. The gel pillows are incomparably comfortable and effective. They should become the standard for all nasal pillow masks in the future.
The spoiler for me is the effort it takes to get the mask and headgear positioned for no leakage. I'm not talking about the initial setup, but every time I put the mask on. I can't do it without my glasses and a light (if it's dark). The difficulty is due to the formless and shapeless nature of the headgrear and exacerbated by the loose, off-center loop for the hose guide. If I have to leave my bed at night, I need a couple of minutes of full consciousness and light to get the mask on again. I should also note that the top strap placement is critical to the proper placement of the pillows and one has to rely on memory to place it in the proper position between the hairline and the crown of the head - a pretty big spread.
I'll give the Nuance Pro another few days, but I think I'll end up putting it in my travel kit, as it's about unbreakable as can be and takes up little room. When they come out with a better headgear, I'll surely give it another try. But until then, it's back to the trusty, old-fashioned Breeze. By Steve R, Buffalo, NY
I just started in Jan on CPAP. Let's say not succesful venture until now. I tried three full masks (hard and soft), two nasal masks and another nasal pillow mask.
The first nasal pillow mask worked but 3 hrs into sleep, I ripped it off my head with nose pain and facial discomfort. I decided one more try or the machine was going into the deep six.
This mask is perfect. Stays in place with almost no pressure. The nasal pillows are soft and comfortable. As a side sleeper I have no leaks and from the very first night I have slept every night at least 7 hrs. Perfect for me. I recommend fully By Ray, Manchester, NJ
Nuance Nasal Pillow
Very comfortable device. Stays in place. Does not leave facial redness. By J Conrad, Pennsylvania
Works the best I've tried
The Nuance works the best yet. I started with a mask which was constantly giving problems leaking. I could adjust it sitting up, the lay down and it would leak. I lived with this for two years, not being about to sleep on my back. Then I went to one I saw on TV that had nasal puffs and was supported by a mouth piece that was formed to my upper teeth by heating it. This was a vast improvement and allowed me to sleep on my back. I did worry that over time I might pull out a crowned tooth in the front of my upper teeth when pulling it out. Now I am trying the Nuance and after a few weeks it is working great. Instead of a mouth piece it has two straps that go around my head to support the nasal gels. I do like it a lot. Best yet. By William, Clayton, GA
Headgear poor design for women
I am a petite female and often find during the night that headgear/mask has come off I spend more time putting it on than I do sleeping in it. By Cassundra S, Alabama
Nuance & Nuance Pro Gel Nasal Pillows CPAP/BiPAP Mask
I have been a cpap person for over 20 years. This mask by far work better than any other ones I have tried. Stays put and is quite. Good price and lightning fast shipping! By David, Tennessee
I had to re-engineer it
Well this took some getting used to. i have been using an Adam circuit headset that was just worn out. Comes with 3 sizes of nose pieces and it's a comfortable and less bulky headset. the problem was with the nose piece. I wear the headpiece with the wide band behind my head and the narrow band on top of my head. Much better seal. and more comfortable. Of course the nose piece bands leaves marks on my face, don't they all? By dan, Missouri

Best I Have Tried in 10 Years
The Nuance mask is the very best I have tried in 10 years of CPAP. It is very easy to adjust I get a good night's sleep. Good especially if you roll about from side to side at night. By James T,
Not Sure About Headgear
The gel pillows on the Nuance Pro are great, but I'm not sure about the gel headgear yet. I may try the fabric headgear next time to see if I like it better. The gel is okay but it feels a little odd at the start of the night. By D.R., AK
Does Not Fit
I am a 60+ female. This product cannot be made to fit on a small female face. I ordered the gel version, which was also slippery. The cloth version would be a bit better for that. I will only buy products designed for the female face structure. By Susan C, Rapid City, SD
Too Much Pressure
I saw in a CPAP xchange email the Gel Nasal Pillows and thought this should work great. After trying just 3 nights I switched back to my Swift pillows. I was awaken 2-3 times a night to adjust for seal. It required tightening the straps creating way too much pressure to obtain a seal. By Ron, California
