I had a ResMed S8 previously. It was a little too noisy and kept my wife awake which left me in the guest room. The ResMed S9 is so quiet sometimes I'm not sure it is on. The guest room is now left for guests. Love it. Nice humidifier, too. I'm using it with the ClimateLine tubing and the Mirage Quattro face mask. By George, Pennsylvania
very satisfied thus far
After many years using an S7 from Res-Med, i got the S9 about a month ago. It is great. I have not experienced any noise on exhalation as others have reported.
In contrast to the S7, the tubing comes off the back of the machine. Not a big issue, except it adds to the amount of space needed if kept on a night table. I keep mine on the floor, so the problem there is that i would have to turn it backwards to optimize the tube length to the bed. Since i like to have the display and on/off button facing the bed, it effectively shortens the tubing. I am using the heated tubing and it works well. I like the fact that I can vary the temperature.
The humidifier is easy to clean since the top comes off. It seems like the capacity is much smaller as I have to refill it more often.
All in all the issues are small potatoes; the unit is great and I am very satisfied with it. Highly recommended. By rpw, atlanta, ga
Called to confirm order and was given great advice. Settings were made without asking. Great Service. By dp, California
I really like this machine because of it's smooth opperation. The CPAP experience is GREAT with the S9 AutoSet, with features such as the ClimateLine hose and heated humidifier. It's also a very pretty machine and doesn't shout out MEDICAL DEVICE! With it's curves and sleek design, it adds a bit of decor to your nightstand. By Trish, Owensville
ResMed S9 AutoPap
I got this machine through a medical provider. I liked the low profile and the auto adjusting feature, but could never get used to the weird moaning sound it makes on exhalation. If you are sensitive to random sounds, this machine will NOT work for you. Unfortunately, I just had to go back to my old F&P Cpap, which is bulkier, but still quieter than this newer and more high tech machine. By Judy, Indiana
S9 AutoSet™ Auto-CPAP Machine
This is them first time I have used this make of C-Pap machine, I have only used it for less than a week and so far it appears to be working very well. I have had mostly Resperonics machines in the past 20 years and have had minor problems with all of them. I followed the reviews on the S9 AutoSet™ Auto-CPAP Machine and most were very good, so I decided to give it a try and am very pleased to date. By David,
I am a 02 retainer. This machine is a life saver for me and I would tell anyone to go for it. Its quiet as can be, although I did have some problems with air noises at night because of movement and I found that a elastic head band put over the back of my head and wrapped just over the hose held the mask tight. With no discomfort to me. By Rhonda H., watertown
The cpap machine is quiet but it produces a whistling noise that is extremely annoying. By ADF, Port Charlotte
Amazing machine. Adjusts pressure as needed during the night. Only drawback is the machine makes a discernible noise when you exhale. By Edward T, Detroit
I love this machine
I have been on CPAP for 6 years. I was never comfortable with knowing what was happening while I slept with my first machine. I love that I can look at how many hours I used the machine and the quality of my use. I also like that I can send in my card so my doctor can get a report. I was not able to use the humidifier on my old machine because of the rainout. Now I have the heated tubing and that helps tremendously with reducing the water in the tube and I don't get so dry at night. By Suzanne, Greenville, SC
WOW! I can't say enough about this new CPAP machine. The heated tubing absolutely has spoiled me, that's for sure. I'm still learning how to work some of the features but I REALLY like it so far. This is a VERY QUIET and well running machine. I haven't tried the "SlimLine" tubing that I bought for the machine just yet. By Patricia B, MO
