| DESCRIPTION | Since their release users of Respironics popular ComfortGel, ComfortSelect and ComfortFull 2 masks have noted problems with intermittent breakage of the faceplate socket area of the mask.Respironics has determined that the hard material and round shape of the old style ball clip created a ‘wedging’ effect within the faceplate socket that, with repeated use, could weaken the walls of the socket area and cause breakage. The new mushroom ball clips are made of softer materials, with a mushroom shaped head and more ergonomic grip area as compared to the old style ball clip. Extensive testing has shown that the new mushroom shaped design will result in a significant increase in the life of the ball socket area as compared to the original design. These clips will work with all ComfortGel Nasal, ComfortGel Full, ComfortFusion, ComfortSelect, ComfortFull, and ComfortFull 2 masks. The DARK GRAY (BLACK) clips are provided standard on all ComfortGel Nasal, ComfortFusion, ComfortSelect, and ComfortFull 2 masks. The LIGHT BLUE (LIGHT GRAY) clips are made of a more pliable rubber material and are provided standard on all ComfortGel Full masks. NOTE: One result of using the softer material in the new ball clip is that its shaft will show wear, evidenced by visible nicks. This is normal and entirely expected; nicks in the material will not cause clip breakage. Respironics tests have shown that the new design will increase the socket area life by over 10 times. |

| INSTALLATION & REMOVAL |
HOW TO INSTALL A NEW MUSHROOM CLIP Place the head of mushroom ball clip against the bottom of your finger. Use the tip of your finger to feel for the socket area of the mask. Then use your finger to depress the tip into the socket until it clicks into place. HOW TO REMOVE A NEW MUSHROOM CLIP There are two preferred methods for removing the new mushroom clips. 1. Grasp the body of the ball clip and gently pull it out of the socket away from the face (do not attempt to pull the clip through the socket). 2. Slide your hand between the headgear strap and your cheek with your palm against your cheek. Gently move your hand outward away from your face. The ball clip will disengage. |
