leaks n farts

no matter how much I try to adjust it. leaks n should be called "fartarra hear" hahahaha

The mask didn't work as well as expected. CpapXchange offered a free 30 day trial. I returned the mask for credit.

I ordered this to provide the necessary CPAP function while also covering my mouth to prevent air leakage (from my mouth during the night) that interrupts my wife's sleep. It looked like the perfect solution but after receiving it, I found that the nostril supply was just an open hole in the top of the unit and not similar to a nose pillow style nose couplings. This allowed a small amount of air to seep around my face and was regularly waking me as I moved in any direction. The covering over the mouth worked as expected but the panic reflex when trying to get it off of my face in the middle of the night (it straps on pretty well) made it where I was unable to continue therapy with this unit and luckily have the 30 day trial from CpapXchange, so, returned the item. I'm thinking that if the nose coupling was better structured to provide leak free therapy, this would be a great solution for situations like mine. CpapXchange is the best in standing behind their products and providing the best in customer support! I have purchased many different masks, machines and supplies from them over the last 7 years and I highly recommend CpapXchange!

comfortable but leaks

I was excited to try this face mask but am so disappointed in it after 3 weeks of usage. First of all it leaks and to try and offset leakage I must tighten the straps to the point of being uncomfortable. Also air blows into my eyes and face. Secondly I find the white clips difficult to attach and the elbow is tricky when attaching hose. It is noiser than my F10 mask. while it is less claustrobic one must remove mask to sip water from dry mouth. I love the size and the fact that I can wear my glasses but it is a mystery to me that with all the latest technology they can't produce something better in full face mask for those of us who can't wear nasal pillows.

Comfortable but Dry Mouth.

Maintain a good seal; however, I experience increased dry mouth with it.

Great mask...BUT

I really like the Amara View with respect to the easy to use interface and cushion and for the first month or so it sealed well and was super comfortable. Then like a lot of others stated, the head gear stretches out. I wash the question every day and I wash the headgear once a week, so it's not that I don't take care of my mask and accessories.

Very hard to latch and unlatch

I am having difficulty with my new Amara mask with trying to hook it closed, and then unhook it....I can do it OFF of me, but when it is on, is very difficult.
By Pam,

Well designed.

This almost worked for me. I wore it two nights. The membrane with the nostril holes in it pushes hard enough on the end of my nose to make it sore after a few hours of wearing. It is even sore to the touch for hours afterward. As with all masks the question is does it fit you, because their is not one that is best for all. It may work fantastic for some.

Better headgear

With better more durable headgear I would upgrade my rating to 5 STARS
By Ray Klemmer,

I can read

I am new to the whole CPAP, after trying a few different mask the full mask was the only one working with the well know exception of the air leaks that makes you want to rip it off. Also the discomfort in reading in bed with it on. The Amara is very comfortable the low profile makes it appealing to wear during TV time as the doctor has advised. It's the air leaks that wake me throughout the night, I am praying that with technology this can be improved on. I DO recommend the mask to anyone who wears a full face one.

Great but headgear lacking

I've used the Amara View for about 10 months now and find it very comfortable except the headgear stretches too much. Medicare only allows replacement every six months and by then the head gear is stretched too much to allow a good seal on the mask. I have a friend who has the same problem with his.

Good Mask

This is my second try at CPAP, the first time I had a nasal mask that rested on the bridge of my nose, and I would get sores, so I would put a band aid on my nose, but that would lead to leaks. I am trying this mask because I had also had problems with dry mouth when only my nose was covered. So far it is working good, my only complaint is leaking around my jaw line. I can get it to stop by tightening the bottom straps, but it sometimes feels they are too tight.

Amara view full face cpap

This is the best cpap mask I have purchased. Gives me the freedom to move and read and does not give me the claustrophobic feeling I was getting with other masks.
By Tony C,

This is the one

The most comfortable mask I have ever tried and I have been through 5 in the past 3 months looking for the perfect one. This is it. So easy to adjust and maintains a great seal throughout the night. And so easy to care for. Resperonics has raised the bar with this one. I am sleeping clear through the night for the first time since starting cpap therapy. Be sure to watch the video for adjusting and you will be amazed how easy it is.

Mask vs. Headgear

I like the comfort of the mask, and it leaves no marks on my face. However, the standard-sized headgear stretched way out after only a couple weeks of use. Also, it is impossible for me to avoid positioning the upper straps over my ears, which is quite uncomfortable. I believe Philips would do well to produce a small-sized headgear, which would match up for me with the small-sized mask I wear. They only make two sizes of headgear thus far: the standard and the large sizes. If this problem is addressed, I could then rate it at five stars.

Amara View

It seemed like a very practical mask to off set my father's claustrophobia, but the shape of his nose did not provide a air tight connection
