Sleep Therapy & Our Sense of Smell: While CPAP/BiPAP can be a powerful and useful tool in the battle against Sleep Apnea, the presence of a mask and machine can be difficult to get used to. In addition to the time and effort it takes to acclimate to the feel of a mask on your face, there is often a negative connotation caused by the smells of plastics and gels that most CPAP/BiPAP masks are made of.
Unlike our other primary senses, the sense of smell is a chemical sense. Detection of aromatic molecules initiates a cascade of physiological and emotional responses. Research has proven that very small emissions of plastic compounds, even below conscious detection levels, such as vinyl chloride and styrene (and others emitted by all CPAP/BiPAP equipment) can result in heightened levels of stress, irritation, and anxiety. Pur-Sleep's Passive Diffusion System uses a Raised Tray and Reusable Diffuser Wafers, made of a specially compressed fiber material, to lightly scent the air drawn into your CPAP to promote a more conducive sleep environment. Nice package
Wanted to try out the aromatherapy with my CPAP. Like the package that was sent with the scents, stand and wafers. There was a sampler of tiny bottles also. In general, I like the product. I didn't like a couple of the big bottles of oils however. They were too bitter smelling or something. Not a nice herbal experience for me. There are a couple samples I might try to order in the future.

Smelling Good!
Lots of different smells but the 3 main ones all seem to have a very similar aroma, not bad but just slightly different from each other. The other "trial" sizes all smell like some type of food which only make me and my wife hunger. Disappointed the lavender wasn't included as on of the aromas. Overall a good place to start until you find out what works for you. An excellent way to mask the "plastic" smell from the mask and hoses.

AROMATHERAPY
The customer service is good, fast delivery. But the aromatherapy that I got is horrible. They are way to strong, very overpowering. I got the 3 bottels and the samples. The only thing that wasn't strong was some of the samples. I wasn't impressed that you couldn't pick the 3 larger bottles that you wanted. I will not be ordering this again. I feel like I wasted $ because I can't breathe that strong stuff in like that. We should have been given an option.

i have not tried all the smells yet so far the spice is ok the other two big bottels i cant handle will be trying others soon. now these are the ones that come with the starter kit.now this is just me may not be the same for outher people

Starter Kit
I have really enjoyed most of the aromas in the starter kit. I do have one problem though. I have so much trouble opening the tiny vials. I am 77 yrs old and have trouble with items this small. I really liked the aroma CALM but the "cork" broke off and now I can't get it opened to use the remaining amount.

I've always been an advocate of aromatherapy and had tried to create my own ways of incorporating it with my Cpap... This is by far and away the BEST mixture of scents as well as the easiest application that I have found! I especially recommend the Peace to anyone that needs to relax in order to sleep!!

Why Did I Wait So Long!
I finally decided to try the CPAP Aromatherapy as a silly Christmas present this year. Well, I wish I hadn't waited til then. Just a drop or two each night helps me fall asleep and rest better all night. The smell isn't strong, just plesent. Very nice.
