Conceived as an every day Auto-CPAP machine for people with active lifestyles, the Z1 Auto is small enough to get lost in your laptop bag. In fact Z1 Auto is the smallest, lightest, most portable APAP in the world.
Z1 Auto provides responsive, customized sleep therapy, adjusting automatically to ensure you receive the lowest pressure levels possible for successful, comfortable sleep therapy. Z1 Auto is meticulously designed with a whisper quiet motor, advanced data capabilities, an optional integrated battery, and a 3-year warranty; so wherever you go the Z1 Auto will be ready so you can sleep in style.
Just 10 Ounces -- The World's Smallest & Lightest APAP: Designed from the ground up to be elegant and refined, the Z1 Auto APAP has been considered and measured from every angle to ensure it is as small and comfortable and capable as possible! The Z1 Auto is tiny at 6.3 x 3.5 x 2.0 inches and ultra-light at 8 ounces. It is FAA Approved and will fit easily into any overnight bag; but it's sleek styling, modern looks, and quality materials mean that it will look great on your nightstand too.
Z-Breathe Pressure Relief for Comfort: Z1 Auto delivers a more natural breathing experience with proprietary Z-Breathe relief. Z-Breathe learns from your breathing patterns, gently raising and lowering therapy pressure to reduce the "pressure swing" caused by inhalations and exhalations during sleep. Set Z-Breathe to one of three settings: CPAP 1 for mild relief; CPAP 2 for moderate relief; or CPAP3 for maximum pressure swing relief.
Optional Integrated Battery Pack: For nights away from fixed power the Z1 Auto's optional PowerShell Battery Pack (shown at right) provides an innovative, integrated solution, merging the machine and battery in one convenient package. The PowerShell holds one battery that will last 1-2 nights between charges. For extra nights away add additional batteries -- at 9 ounces each they won't weigh you down! The Z1 PowerShell can also be used as a backup power supply, automatically taking over during a power outage or blackout.
Whisper Quiet Operation: The Z1 Auto is built for sleep so it is very quiet. In fact it's one of the quietest APAPs on the market, producing only 26 dBA on average of sound during operation.
Auto Altitude Adjustment & Leak Compensation: The Z1 Auto automatically adjusts to altitudes up to 8,000 feet above sea level. It is even approved by the FAA for use on airplanes and will adjust automatically to an airplane's cabin pressure. When traveling outside the US the Z1 Auto will convert the voltage automatically so you can continue enjoying safe and comfortable sleep therapy wherever your next adventure takes you. (Plug adapter may be needed outside of North America.)
To ensure you're always receiving your prescribed sleep therapy pressure the Z1 Auto will automatically compensate for minor air leakage and mask leaks. If Z1 Auto detects an excessive air leak that could be detrimental to therapy its display screen will warn you to ensure that the leak is corrected promptly.
Ramp for Comfort: For people who prefer to fall asleep with therapy at lower pressure levels, the Z1 Auto's ramp comfort feature is a perfect solution. Ramp slowly increases therapy pressure over time, from 0 to 45 minutes, so you can breathe naturally as you fall asleep.
Intelligent LCD Display: The Z1 Auto's large, backlit LCD display provides information on your current pressure setting, ramp time, power status, and more. With the Z1 Auto you can always check your current therapy status, but don't worry the display has an auto-off function! When it's not needed the backlight turns off automatically so it won't keep you up as you drift off to sleep!
Humidification Options: If you prefer added humidification when using sleep therapy, the Z1 Auto comes complete with a HME Waterless Humidification Filter. A unique alternative to bulky water based humidifiers, HME Filters capture heat and moisture from your sleep therapy air and exhalations, preserving and increasing humidity to prevent your airways from drying out during therapy. In addition the Z1 Auto is compatible with external heated humidifiers like the HC150 from Fisher & Paykel.
Therapy Compliance, Data & NightLog: Do you need to track your sleep therapy progress for your job, your doctor or just for your own peace of mind? Download the Nitelog app for Apple iOS or Android and have all of the sleep data from you Z1 Auto available at your fingertips. Nitelog uses the Z1 Auto's built-in Bluetooth chip to sync your data wirelessly so it is very simple to set up and use. Nitelog also enables sharing by email so that you can easily send your data to your doctor.
Compatible with Any CPAP Mask: The Z1 Auto APAP comes complete with a Universal Tube Adapter and a 48 inch slim tube. If you prefer longer tubing or performance tubing it can be used with that too; and it will work with any CPAP mask on the market so choose your favorite... don't worry it IS compatible!
Always Up To Date: One of the most unique features of the Z1 Auto Travel APAP is the ability to upgrade the machine's operating system -- to implement performance refinements, add new features, or update capabilities -- with a home computer connected to the internet and a USB Cable. Remote upgrades are a great way to ensure your Z1 Auto is always performing at its best.
I wals looking for a small, very portable, quiet CPAP unit that was able to use my hose/mask combination. Z1 provided everything.
My only issue was it came with factory settings and I needed more air. The customer service staff emailed me a one page sheet with all the instructions to change the settings. Provided quality sleep once I changed to the correct settings.
It is momentary makes slightly more noise while it is calibrating my inhale/exhale requirements, but after a couple of minutes it is silent.
Fine product, and with two batteries I'll never worry about having a long term power outage.
I'd recommend this system!By srwaldman, 03-05-2018
The Good: Really small. Even with the battery pack. A battery easily lasts a single night. Instructions on set up are easily followed but would like more explanation of a couple of the functions.
Bad: When breathing in, this squeals like a stuck pig. Is this normal? I put the machine under my to block the sound and that helps...but wow. The air flow howls like a hurricane. I tried a larger diameter tube and still the same howl. At 4cm during the ramp this is much louder than my regular machine at 9cm. I have ordered the muffle and will see if that helps with the howl and the squeal. I have not been able to connect to the machine with either my phone (Droid Turbo 2) or one of my laptops (HP). I need to try my iPad and other laptop (Dell M7510).
Wait and see: I got the inline humidifier muffler and it is hard to see if it works. It needs a rubber connection on the larger side (other side goes into the rubber connector of the tube) instead of the hard plastic...which connects to the hard plastic of the mask. A way to charge a battery external to the Powerpack would be nice; particularly since the deal right now is an extra battery for free. The carrying case is an abomination. Any advantage to the small size is negated by using the carrying case (that cost $35).
Overall: I do not have any issue removing either the battery or cpap machine from the powerpack. Seems pretty straightforward to me. I will keep the machine but need ways to mitigate the machine noise (headphones?) and find a better carrying case.

Works as advertised... but be ready for a somewhat noisier experience - worth it, to me, for the convenience and small size.By breinersj-29712, 05-02-2017
Keep in mind that the max setting is 20. Also, the unit is very noisy. My wife complained. Even with the inline noise device installed. So...I returned the unit.By James, 11-12-2016
I hated having to lug my CPAP machine with me on trips. Finally came across this traveling CPAP and WOW is all I can say. Its small, light weight and packs a powerful punch. Didn't think I would get the same sleep quality with this small machine but I do. Would recommend to anyone that travels.By Kim, 09-19-2016
Lightweight, compact & perfect for travel. I used in for a week in Europe with my family this summer and it was a lifesaver in hotel rooms. I slept and so did everyone else! Wife could hear the noise of the machine (or the mask really) but much better than my snoring (or so she said!!!).By Mark S, 08-16-2016
I thought it was quiet through the night and was quiet and my wife remarks at how quite it is and the battery packs keeps me going throughout the night and one of the best yet I have used so far! By Willie E, 08-07-2016
I really wanted to like this machine - it it compact and easy to use. Unfortunately it was so noisy I literally could not fall asleep while using it. It wasn't just white noise, but pitched noise which slid up and down the scale as I breathed, and was rather like trying to sleep with a harmonica in my mouth! Fortunately cpapexchange.com has a generous return policy, so I will be trying a different compact machine and hope the noise level is less.By Kristen, 08-02-2016
I can sleep through a raucous football game. I cannot sleep through the night with the Z1 unit. It is extremely LOUD! Otherwise the idea of truly portable CPAP unit is the only redeeming feature.By LN in SF, 07-26-2016
I love the size of the Z1 Auto cpap, however the Z1 is so loud and it is so hard to fall asleep while in use.By Emad, 10-28-2015
I bought my Z1 and it came with the new qTube muffler. It's very quiet with the qTube and I'm lovin it for camping at the lake this summer. I might get a qTube for my bigger machine too.By Donna P, 08-13-2015
The size of this APAP makes it great for travel. However, it is a compromise -- noisier than my regular CPAP and I do miss the humidifier. Better than nothing when traveling.By Martie , 06-22-2015
Purchased this unit specifically for long International travel (10 hour flight). Received two days prior to departure and had no trouble adjusting to use compared to F & P Icon which I use at home. Much easier to travel with and worked with aircraft electrical system with no problems. Easily stored in laptop bag vs. carrying an additional bag for CPAP as have done in past. Recommended!!!!
